    I am interested in becoming a FAA Part 107 licensed pilot. I have flown RC airplanes over the years. But could you help direct me in the proper path to get “certified & licensed” to do it professionally.

    1. Hi James, thanks for contacting us. The FAA regulates the Part 107 licenses, and the written test is very similar to the test that regular pilots are required to take. Here is an overview:

      There are some paid courses that are pretty good as well, but don’t pay a lot of money for one. I recommend if you want to go that route. It costs $150, but the instructor is really good and gives good explanations of everything.

      Whenever you’re ready, simply register to take the test. Gulf Coast Aviation at the Lakefront Airport is our local testing center.
